Review:
A
lonely squirrel named Cyril befriends Pat, another squirrel…or is he? They have
a wonderful time playing in the park - teasing pigeons and a dog. Until it
turns out that Pat is actually a RAT! Now alone, Cyril gets into a sticky
situation with the dog, only to be rescued by Pat and his friends, and they
play together in the park forevermore. This story is such a creative way of
teaching children to like whom they like! This book is very funny and sweet
(it's also an excellent tool for introducing the concept of dramatic irony to
toddlers... if you're into that sort of thing). And, really, are rats and
squirrels all that different? Overall, it is Outstanding.
